CLEVELAND, TN. | Several members of the men's and women's cross-country team competed in the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland, TN over the weekend.
The Young Harris men opened up the 2-day meet with
Liam King in the 10,000m run. King finished 4
th overall over the 10,000m distance clocking in at 31:18.19 (5:00/mile pace). As of March 25
th, that time would rank King 33
rd nationally in Div. II, and 4
th in the Southeast region (YHC will begin sponsoring track and field in 2024-2025 and does not currently count in the rankings due to not sponsoring the sport).
The Mountain Lions began the day Saturday competing in the men's and women's 5,000m run.
Emily Baars finished in 48
th place with a time of 21:10.57 and
Brinley Wilson finished 51
st with a time of 24:05.30.
Matthew Honeycutt represented the men in the 5,000m run and placed 28
th with a time of 16:22.94.
Brianna Dalton and
Piper Marsingill competed in the last event of the day, the women's 1500m run. Marsingill finished in 59
th with a time of 5:57.94. Dalton was 61
st with a time of 6:01.98. A small group of Young Harris athletes will return to competition on April 5
th and 6
th at the Lee University Fast Break Athletics Invitational.
