YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College women's soccer coach
Avram Allen announced the addition of Michael Ohana as an Assistant coach. Michael is originally from Nakuru, Kenya and was raised in the United States.
Coach Avram says, "I am thrilled to welcome Michael to our team. His playing experience, exceptional skills in developing connections with others, strong work ethic, and positive mindset make him a valuable addition. I believe his contributions will greatly benefit our program, and his presence will further propel us forward in the right direction".
Ohana played at Piedmont College from 2015-2017, where he was named a USA South All-Academic Team member. In 2017-2019, he played for Emmanuel College under the coaching of Scott Borchers and Stephen Lee. He graduated honors with a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Sports Management.
After graduating from Emmanuel, Michael played two season with Viterbo University as a graduate transfer where he helped Viterbo to a conference title. While Ohana was at Viterbo, the team was ranked a program best 24th in the nation. Michael was captain at Viterbo for the 2020-2021 season, named to the NAIA All-Academic team, and named NAIA Champion of Character. Ohana graduated from Viterbo with a Master's in Business Administration.
Ohana played as a Semi Professional with LSA Athletico Lanier in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) helping the team appear in the Southeastern Divisional Semi Final for the first time in club history. After LSA, he had a brief Professional stint in Kenya with top Premier League teams Nairobi City Stars & Kariobangi Sharks. Ohana also coached Assist Ed Rock and Monsignor Donovan Catholic high School men's soccer team to the first State Championship in School history in 2018-2019 Season.
