YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Junior pitcher and utility player Grace Young was named to the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Southeast Region Second Team.
Young went 9-5 in the circle this season for the Mountain Lions. She held a 3.49 ERA in 23 appearances and 16 starts. Young recorded 57 strikeouts over 108.1 innings of work.
Grace delivered six complete games and a shutout against Erskine in the Mountain Lions 8-0 victory. She fanned five batters and threw six innings in her outstanding outing against Erskine.
Young excelled as a utility player this season. She started in all 52 games and hit .329 in 167 plate appearances. Over the season, Young tallied 55 hits, 15 doubles, a triple, and six homers. She drove in 29 runs, drew 24 walks, and had a .949 on base percentage.
Being named to the Southeast Region Second Team marks Young's second accolade in three weeks, as she earned First Team All-Conference Honors on April 25th.
