YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Softball standouts Addie Heal and Gracie Hughes were selected by the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) to the 2023-24 Academic All-District Team. Heal a Sophomore Second Baseman has also been tabbed as a CSC Academic All-America finalist.

Heal holds a 3.90 GPA and is majoring in Biology. Addie was a force at the plate this season. She hit .341 with a .960 on base percentage and produced 58 hits, nine doubles, nine home runs, and 42 RBIs over 170 at bats. Defensively, Heal had 98 put outs and 81 assists for a .973 fielding percentage. Heal's fielding stats earned her a spot on the All-Conference Defensive Team.

Off the field, Heal earned a spot on the Conference Fall Presidential Honor Roll.

Hughes boasts a 3.98 GPA and is also majoring in Biology. Gracie had a great season at the plate and in the circle for the Mountain Lions. Hughes hit .369 with 65 hits, 12 doubles, 10 home runs, and 45 RBIs over 176 at bats. In the circle, she threw 53.2 innings, recorded 43 strikeouts, and finished the year with a 7-3 record. Her fantastic play on both sides of the ball resulted in a Second Team All-Conference Selection.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 18.
