YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Mountain Lions welcome Todd Raasch into the Enchanted Valley as our new volleyball assistant coach. Todd, from Wisner, Nebraska, comes to campus with over thirty years of experience as an assistant volleyball coach or volleyball head coach at eleven different college institutions; ranging from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln to Barry University.

"I am grateful to be joining the Young Harris athletic department and community," said Raasch. Continuing, "I look forward to working with coach Michael again and helping her continue to develop and grow the success and culture she has already established."

Todd Raasch began his coaching career at Graceland University in Iowa, after playing men's volleyball for the school from 1986 to 1990. During his time as a men's volleyball player for the Yellowjackets, the team finished as National Runner-up twice, with the first time being 1987, and the ladder occurring at the end of the 1990 season. Raasch started the 1990 season as the Yellow Jackets team captain and finished his senior season as a First Team All-American.

Todd spent 1990-1992 as the assistant volleyball coach for Graceland University after his successful playing career. Raasch brought immediate success to Graceland University, as they won their conference championship and made the NAIA National Tournament Qualifier in 1991.

After finishing his stint at Graceland University, Raasch turned his attention to the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where he assumed the role of assistant volleyball coach, in which place he coached from 1992 to 1994. In 1994, Raasch helped the team make it to the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Sweet 16 Qualifier.

Subsequently, Todd took over the assistant volleyball coach position at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where he played a pivotal role in the Husker's NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball National Championship victory in 1995.

After Todd's magical one year tenure with the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, he returned to Kearney, where he stayed as the associate volleyball head coach from 1996-1999. In his first year back, Todd continued the success from their 1994 season and made it to the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Elite Eight Qualifier.

Todd Raasch took his talents to Metropolitan State University of Denver as their assistant volleyball coach from 1999 to 2004; noticing Raasch's coaching talents, Todd earned his first head coach position at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where he spent two seasons in that role. Following, Raasch had stints at Florida Atlantic University (2006-2010) and DePaul University (2011) as an assistant volleyball coach.

After visiting those three stops, Raasch moved on to Johnson & Wales University in Denver, Colorado, as head volleyball coach. While at Johnson & Wales, the Wildcats hosted and qualified for the NAIA Men's National Volleyball Tournament on two separate occasions. Raasch was in Denver with Johnson & Wales University from 2012 to 2014.

Over the past decade, Todd Raasch has held the title of assistant volleyball coach at California State University at San Marcos (2014-2016), Lincoln Memorial University (2018-2020), and Barry University (2020-2022).

While at California State University at San Marcos, the team experienced immense success, as the Cougars were crowned 2014 Conference Champions, and made the NAIA National Volleyball Tournament Qualifier. During his time at Lincoln Memorial University, the Railsplitters ended their season as Conference Runner-up and made the NCAA Division II National Tournament Qualifier in 2018.

Over the last thirty plus seasons spent coaching volleyball, Todd Raasch has coached multiple All-American's, All-Region selections, All-Conference selections, as well as National and Conference Player of the Year selections. Raasch now turns his attention to Young Harris College, where alongside head coach Jenny Michael, the Mountain Lions look to take the next leap from their most successful season in program history last year.
